Garland Peed -- Committed to Justice
We’re moving into challenging times in public safety in California. Criminal Justice Realignment, signed into law by the Governor this year, expands the role of criminal trial judges. That’s why it’s important to have judges who really understand street crime as much as they do the law. And that’s why I am urging San Diegans to vote for Deputy District Attorney Garland Peed for judge. I’ve know Garland for years–as a gang prosecutor, as homicide prosecutor, and as a man of sound judgment and integrity. He’ll make an outstanding judge.

I first got to know Garland Peed when I was with the police department and Garland was a frontline gang prosecutor. He played a key role in the San Diego Gang Task Force that brought together both local and federal law enforcement to address gang violence. His intelligence, command of the law, and leadership were real assets to the success of the operation. I am pleased to see him seek judicial office and honored to support him. He will be a great judge for all San Diegans.
- Honorable Jerry Sanders, Mayor of San Diego
As San Diego County's District Attorney, I believe that Garland Peed's 27 years of exceptional, honest, and dedicated public service as a prosecutor and leader in public safety will make him an outstanding judge. It is Garland's experience and judgment that made him successful in leading many of the most critical divisions in the District Attorney's Office including the Gang Division, the North County Branch, and his appointment as Chief of the Superior Court Division. Garland's proven track record of conducting complex homicide jury trials, protecting victims' rights, holding accountable those who would prey on our children and battling gang members who terrorize our communities make him a perfect choice to honorably serve as Superior Court Judge.

I’ve know Garland Peed for many years as one of San Diego’s premier prosecutors. When I was Police Chief, he worked with my gang investigators to clean up big parts of the City of San Diego. Then, when I served as Sheriff, Garland worked hand-in-hand with my homicide detectives on cold homicides. He knows his way around a crime scene and knows his way around the courtroom and I’ve always been impressed with his compassion for crime victims. I am proud to support Garland Peed for judge.
- Sheriff Bill Kolender (Ret.)
Garland Peed is my overwhelming choice to fill my seat on the San Diego Superior Court. He is well respected by his peers, the defense bar, and the judges of the Superior Court. Law enforcement leaders also overwhelmingly support his candidacy for seat number 34. He is firm but fair and has an outstanding work ethic. Our community will benefit greatly when he is elected.
